The Cardboard Ring Squeezer

Steps:

Use markers to draw three big circles on a piece of construction paper.
Color each circle a different color using your markers.
Take an empty paper roll and use your scissors to cut it into four rings.
Place a pile of colorful pom-poms on the table.
Show your child how to hold one cardboard ring between their thumb and fingers.
Squeeze the ring to make it flat like a pair of tweezers.
Use the flattened ring to pinch a pom-pom.
Carry the pom-pom and drop it into the matching colored circle on the paper.
See how fast you can sort all the fuzzy pom-poms!

Safety Tip:
Always supervise your child while they use scissors. Small pom-poms can be a choking hazard, so keep them away from younger siblings.

The Tiny Pom-Pom Tree Grove

Steps:

Use a pair of scissors to cut small, three-inch circles from your cardboard pieces.
Have your child use the hole puncher to click a single hole right in the center of every circle.
Slide one pipe cleaner through the hole and twist the bottom so the tree stands up tall.
Bend the top of the pipe cleaner into several little branches that point in different directions.
Ask your child to pick up a colorful pom-pom using only their thumb and pointer finger.
Carefully set the pom-pom on a branch so it stays perfectly balanced without any glue.
Challenge them to see how many pom-poms they can add to their tiny forest!

Safety Tip:
Pom-poms are a choking hazard. Please supervise your child closely and ensure they do not put them in their mouth.

The Feather Wind-Trace

Steps:

Tape a long piece of butcher paper to the floor using masking tape.
Use a marker to draw a wide, winding path from one end to the other.
Place a soft pom-pom at the start of your windy path.
Give your child a feather and show them how to use it as a broom.
Challenge them to sweep the pom-pom all the way to the finish line.
Make sure they keep the pom-pom inside the lines as they move.

Safety Tip:
Adult supervision is recommended. Ensure the child stays in a stable kneeling or sitting position to prevent slipping on the paper.

Fan-Fold Color Towers

Steps:

Use markers to draw bright patterns on three index cards.
Show your child how to fold the card back and forth to create a fan or accordion shape.
Press each fold firmly with your thumb and index finger to make the creases very sharp.
Squeeze a few dots of glue onto a sturdy cardboard base.
Stand the folded card upright on the glue to create a wavy tower.
Pick up a pom-pom using your pinching fingers and glue it onto the peaks of the paper fans.

Safety Tip:
Adult supervision is required when using glue to ensure it stays on the craft and away from faces.

Pool Noodle Pincer Pillars

Steps:

Adult Step: Carefully use scissors to cut the pool noodle into four or five round discs.
Have your child place the foam discs flat on a sturdy table or the floor.
Ask your child to push one golf ball tee into the center of each foam disc.
Provide the tweezers and a small bowl of colorful pom-poms for the next part.
Challenge your child to use the tweezers to pick up one pom-pom at a time.
They must carefully balance the pom-pom on the very top of the golf ball tee.
For an extra challenge, ask them to move the whole disc to a new spot.
They must be very gentle so the pom-pom stays on its pillar during the move!

Safety Tip:
Adult supervision is required because golf ball tees have pointed ends. Ensure your child stays seated and uses the materials only for the activity.
