Hi everyone, my name is Avital Shuster, I’m a mom of three active kids, a wife to a very supportive husband, and a passionate pediatric occupational therapist in Orange County, California.
Many years ago, when social media was not as advanced as it is today, I created OTPlan – a search engine for activity ideas using simple items you can find in every household, out of the need to support parents find daily activities they can do to help develop and promote their children’s developmental skills.
I love and enjoy coming up with activities and sharing them with parents, occupational therapists, teachers, and other service providers.
Skills in a Box and OTPlanDough Kits
Many parents and teachers often asked me “what else can I do to advance and strengthen my child’s motor skills?”.
Putting home programs together, verbally sharing ideas, and referring families and educators to OTPlan for ideas has been my way to address this question.
However, when I would follow up to see if they used the home program or tried to do the activities, I found out that most still struggled with finding the time to put it all together.
This is how the idea to create Skills in a Box and (OT)PlanDough – Playdough Kits came to mind! My goal is to make it even easier for families and educators to find ways and activities to support their children’s developmental skills.
Whether you are a parent, a teacher, or a therapist that is looking for fun and engaging ideas to support your child’s developmental skills, these boxes are for you!
