Vertical Yarn Rescue Mission

Steps:

Tape a large piece of cardboard vertically onto a wall at your child’s shoulder height.
Place a small stuffed animal against the cardboard.
Crisscross long pieces of yarn over the toy to trap it against the board.
Use several strips of masking tape to secure the yarn ends to the cardboard edges.
Ask your child to stand in front of the board with their feet planted firmly.
Challenge them to rescue the toy by peeling the tape and unweaving the yarn.
Encourage them to use one hand to hold the toy and the other to pull the yarn.

Always supervise your child when using long pieces of yarn to prevent any risk of entanglement. Ensure the cardboard is taped securely so it does not fall.

The Rainbow Hand Weaver

Steps:

Trace your child’s hand onto a sturdy piece of cardboard using a marker.
Use a hole puncher to make one hole at the tip of each finger and one at the wrist.
Tie a long piece of colorful yarn to the hole at the wrist.
Show your child how to thread the yarn through the thumb hole first.
Encourage them to weave the yarn back to the wrist and then up to the next finger.
Continue until every finger is connected to the wrist with a beautiful yarn bridge.

The Textured Cardboard Path

Steps:

Help your child cut several long strips of cardboard to make the path.
Use masking tape to secure the strips to the floor in a straight line.
Glue small pieces of soft sponge and rough yarn along the path.
Ask your child to take off their shoes and socks.
Have them walk slowly while keeping their feet inside the cardboard edges.
Encourage them to describe how each section feels as they step on it!

The Fuzzy Cardboard Letter Wrap

Steps:

Use a marker to draw a large, chunky letter on a piece of cardboard.
Help your child use scissors to cut the letter out.
Tape the end of a long piece of yarn to the back of the cardboard letter.
Show your child how to wrap the yarn around and around the letter.
Encourage them to use their helper hand to turn the cardboard while the other hand wraps.
Once the letter is fully covered in fuzzy yarn, tape the end to the back.

Spoon Glide Seesaw

Steps:

Tape two long cardboard strips side-by-side to make a wide path.
Draw a colorful zigzag line down the middle with markers.
Place a ping pong ball at the start of the path.
Give your child a spoon.
Ask them to hold the cardboard track with both hands.
Tilt the board left and right to roll the ball.
Use the spoon in one hand to keep the ball on the line.
