The Foil Cupcake Scoop

Steps:

Tear off several small squares of aluminium foil using both hands.
Show your child how to crumple each foil square into a round ball to make ‘ice cream scoops.’
Place a baking cup on the table and have your child use their helper hand to hold it steady.
Use the spoon to scoop a foil ball and carefully place it inside the baking cup.
Once the ‘cupcake’ is in the cup, pick up a small bead using a pincer grasp (thumb and index finger).
Gently set the bead on top of the foil ball to act as a sprinkle.
Continue adding more ‘sprinkles’ until the cupcake is fully decorated!
Challenge your child to dump the cup and start again with a different colored bead.

Safety Tip:
Always supervise your child closely during play. Small beads and crumpled foil can be a choking hazard, so ensure they do not put any materials in their mouth.

Button Shadow Alignment

Steps:

Tape a piece of butcher paper onto a flat piece of cardboard.
Place the board in a sunny spot to create clear shadows.
Put five buttons on the paper and trace each shadow carefully.
Move the buttons into a pile away from the outlines.
Ask your child to pick up a button using their pincer grasp.
Challenge them to match each button to its correct shadow shape.

Safety Tip:
Buttons are a choking hazard. Always supervise your child during play and keep small parts away from the mouth.

Bilateral Mirror Track Drawings

Steps:

Tape a large piece of butcher paper flat on a stable table to keep it still.
Draw a straight line right down the middle of the paper to divide it in half.
Have your child hold a marker in each hand using a comfortable grasp.
Place both marker tips at the top of the paper, one on each side of the line.
Slowly draw lines outward toward the edges of the paper.
Next, curve back inward toward the center line.
Move both hands at the exact same time to make matching mirror loops.
Draw fun shapes like hearts or butterflies together to keep the challenge exciting!

Safety Tip:
Ensure the table is at a comfortable height to prevent wrist or neck strain.

The Golf Tee Nail Salon

Steps:

Place the Styrofoam block flat on a table.
Use colorful markers to color the flat, round top of each golf ball tee.
Explain to your child that these tees are fingers getting a manicure.
Ask your child to hold a tee tightly with their pinching fingers.
Use the other hand to hold the Styrofoam block steady.
Push the pointed end of the tee straight down into the Styrofoam.
Line up five tees in a row to create a hand.
Carefully place a small sticker on top of each colored tee to finish the style!

Safety Tip:
Golf tees have pointed ends. Always supervise your child during play to prevent accidental pokes or swallowing of small stickers.

The Pencil Top Target Spin

Steps:

Use a small bowl to trace a circle onto your cardboard.
Carefully use scissors to cut the circle out.
Let your child draw a bright spiral pattern on the circle using markers.
Push the pencil tip straight through the center of the cardboard circle.
Make sure the cardboard fits snugly near the bottom of the pencil.
Lay your butcher paper flat on the floor and secure it with masking tape.
Use your markers to draw three nesting target circles on the paper.
Hold the pencil top with your thumb and first two fingers.
Twist your fingers quickly to spin the top onto the target circles!

Safety Tip:
Ensure the pencil tip is not overly sharp to prevent accidental pokes during the spinning motion.
