The Shimmering Treasure Pop

Steps:

Tape four baking cups onto a flat piece of cardboard to keep them steady.
Place one shiny coin inside the bottom of each baking cup.
Cut squares of aluminium foil that are slightly larger than the top of the cups.
Place the foil over the opening and wrap the edges tightly around the cup rim.
Use masking tape to secure the foil around the sides so it stays taut.
Ask your child to use only their index finger to pop through the foil.
Once they break through, have them use their pinching fingers to pull out the hidden treasure!

Safety Tip:
Always supervise your child during play. Small coins and pieces of foil are significant choking hazards. Ensure all materials are stored away after the game.

The Foil Cupcake Scoop

Steps:

Tear off several small squares of aluminium foil using both hands.
Show your child how to crumple each foil square into a round ball to make ‘ice cream scoops.’
Place a baking cup on the table and have your child use their helper hand to hold it steady.
Use the spoon to scoop a foil ball and carefully place it inside the baking cup.
Once the ‘cupcake’ is in the cup, pick up a small bead using a pincer grasp (thumb and index finger).
Gently set the bead on top of the foil ball to act as a sprinkle.
Continue adding more ‘sprinkles’ until the cupcake is fully decorated!
Challenge your child to dump the cup and start again with a different colored bead.

Safety Tip:
Always supervise your child closely during play. Small beads and crumpled foil can be a choking hazard, so ensure they do not put any materials in their mouth.

The Baking Cup Button Slot

Steps:

First, glue several paper baking cups onto a flat piece of cardboard.
Use your scissors to cut a small, narrow slit in the bottom of each cup.
Make sure the slit is just a little bit smaller than your buttons.
Use markers to draw a different colored circle around the slit in each cup.
Ask your child to find a button that matches the color of the circle.
Challenge them to use their pinching fingers to squeeze the button through the slit!
They should hold the cardboard steady with their other hand while they push.
Listen for the soft sound as the button falls through to the board.

Safety Tip:
Always supervise your child during play as buttons are a choking hazard. Ensure the cardboard edges are smooth to prevent scratches.

The Coffee Filter Raindrop Race

Steps:

Place six baking cups in a circle on a large paper plate.
Fill a small bowl with water and add two drops of food coloring.
Lay one coffee filter flat across the top of all the baking cups.
Ask your child to hold the eyedropper with their thumb and pointer finger.
Squeeze the dropper to pick up some of the colored raindrops.
Carefully drop water onto the filter right over each cup target.
Watch the water soak through and try to fill each cup equally!

Safety Tip:
Food coloring and small cups can be messy. Always watch your child closely to make sure they do not drink the water.

Baking Cup Hidden Bubble Pops

Steps:

Glue five baking cups onto a flat piece of cardboard.
Cut five small circles of bubble wrap to fit inside the cups.
Place a small dab of glue at the bottom of each cup.
Press the bubble wrap circles firmly into the glue.
Ask your child to use only their pointer finger to pop the bubbles.
Challenge them to use their other hand to hold the cardboard steady.

Always supervise your child to ensure they do not put small pieces of bubble wrap in their mouth.
