The Foil Button Press
Purpose
This activity uses aluminum foil to give your child's hands a workout. By crumpling and pressing, they build the strength needed for things like opening jars. It also works on precision as they place buttons into the small folds of the foil.
Activity Steps
Steps:
- Tear off a large sheet of aluminum foil.
- Use both hands to crumple the foil into a flat, thick pancake shape.
- Press down hard on the foil with your palm to make it dense.
- Give your child a handful of colorful buttons.
- Ask them to press each button firmly into the foil surface.
- The foil will wrap around the edges to hold the buttons tight!
- Try to cover the whole foil pancake with a button pattern.
Safety Tip:
Buttons are a choking hazard. Always supervise your child during play.
