The Foil Pan Marble Rink

Purpose

This fun activity helps your child build focus and coordination. They will hold the pan with two hands. This practice is called Bilateral Hand Use. It is used for tasks like buttoning shirts or cutting paper. As they guide the marble, they build Eye-Hand Coordination. They also learn to follow moving objects with their eyes. This skill is known as Tracking. The game also uses Motor Planning. They must think about how to move the pan to reach the goal. It is like a tiny golf game they can play anywhere!

Activity Steps

Steps:

  • Place a small paper cup inside the aluminium pan near one edge.
  • Secure the cup to the bottom using a piece of masking tape.
  • Put a single marble into the pan on the opposite side.
  • Ask your child to pick up the pan using both hands.
  • Challenge them to tilt the pan to roll the marble.
  • The goal is to roll the marble directly into the cup!
  • Once it is in, tip it out and try again.

Safety Tip:
Marbles are a significant choking hazard. Always supervise your child. Keep all small materials away from younger siblings.
