The Snake Rim Marble Run

Steps:

  • Place the paper plate on the table.
  • Take a large piece of playdough.
  • Roll it into a very long, thick snake using both hands.
  • Press the playdough snake firmly around the very edge of the paper plate to make a wall.
  • Make sure the wall is smooth and even all the way around the plate.
  • Place a single marble inside the plate.
  • Hold the plate with both hands.
  • Tilt the plate slowly to make the marble roll along the playdough wall without falling out.
  • Challenge your child to go around the circle three times without stopping!

The Foil Pan Hockey Challenge

Steps:

  • Use masking tape to mark a small goal at one end of the pan.
  • Place one marble at the opposite end of the pan.
  • Give your child a craft stick to use as a hockey stick.
  • Ask them to hold the pan with their helper hand to keep it still.
  • Use the other hand to push the marble toward the goal.
  • Navigate around obstacles made of tape or blocks!
  • See how many goals they can score in one minute.

The Paper Roll Marble Plunge

The Paper Roll Marble Plunge

Steps:

  • Use a marker to draw three small ‘X’ marks on the side of your long paper roll.
  • Have an adult help you poke a small hole through each ‘X’ mark using a pencil tip.
  • Push one craft stick through each hole so it stretches all the way across the inside of the tube.
  • Wrap a piece of masking tape over the bottom of the paper roll to seal it shut tightly.
  • Stand the roll upright inside a plastic container and drop five marbles into the top of the tube.
  • Slowly pull the bottom craft stick out and listen for the marbles to drop to the next level.
  • Remove the remaining sticks one by one until all the marbles are resting on the bottom tape.
  • Peel the tape away to let the marbles plunge into the container for a grand finale!

The Shaving Cream Marble Maze

Steps:

  • Fill a Ziplock bag with shaving cream and a little food coloring.
  • Seal the bag and squish it to mix the color.
  • Place a marble inside the bag and seal it again.
  • Use a marker to draw a winding path on the bag.
  • Tape the bag flat to the table with masking tape.
  • Use your index finger to push the marble along the path.

  • The goal is to roll the marble directly into the cup!
  • Once it is in, tip it out and try again.
