The Craft Stick Picture Puzzle
Purpose
This activity is a simple way to help your child develop their visual perception and motor planning. By lining up the sticks and drawing a picture, they are using their eyes and hands together. Putting the puzzle back in the right order helps them practice logic and spatial awareness. It also works on their fine motor control as they carefully place each stick in the correct spot. Activity Steps
Steps:
- Line up five or six craft sticks side-by-side on a flat table.
- Place a long strip of masking tape across the back to hold them together.
- Flip the sticks over so the tape is on the bottom.
- Ask your child to draw a simple picture across all the sticks using markers.
- Carefully peel the masking tape off the back.
- Mix up the craft sticks so the picture is out of order.
- Challenge your child to put the sticks back in the right order to reveal the picture!
Safety Tip:
Supervise your child while they use markers to ensure they stay on the craft sticks. Check the sticks for splinters before starting the activity.
