The Palm-Flip Treasure Drop

Steps:

Use masking tape to secure a paper cup to the edge of a sturdy table.
Place a small pile of coins on the table next to the cup.
Ask your child to rest their forearm on the table with their palm facing down.
Place one coin on the back of their hand.
Encourage them to rotate their wrist until the palm faces up so the coin sits in their palm.
If they feel wobbly, have them use their other hand to help stabilize the arm.
Finally, use a pincer grasp to drop the coin into the cup!

Safety Tip:
Coins are a choking hazard. Always supervise your child. Do not let them put coins in their mouth.

The Spinning Ribbon Wand

Steps:

Cut three colorful ribbons into two-foot lengths.
Wrap the ends of the ribbons around the top of a craft stick.
Secure the ribbons tightly with a piece of masking tape.
Ask your child to hold the stick in their dominant hand.
Encourage them to twist their wrist to make the ribbons spiral.
Challenge them to draw big circles in the air with the wand.

Safety Tip:
Supervise your child at all times when using long ribbons to avoid entanglement. Keep scissors out of reach after the ribbons are cut.

The Secret Keyhole Drop

Steps:

Cut a narrow slot in a piece of cardboard using your scissors.
Use your markers to draw a treasure chest or a door around the secret slot.
Tape a craft stick to the edge of a large button to create a key handle.
Ask your child to hold the cardboard upright with their helper hand.
They must twist their wrist to align the button with the slot to push it through.
Try making the slot horizontal or vertical to change the wrist movement.

Safety Tip:
Adult supervision is required when using scissors and small buttons to prevent any choking hazards.

Plate Tilt Button Slide

Steps:

Use a piece of masking tape to make a small tunnel on one side of the paper plate.
Place two colorful buttons on the plate.
Ask your child to hold the plate with both hands.
Challenge them to tilt the plate back and forth.
They must guide the buttons so they slide through the tape tunnel.
Try to see how many times they can slide the buttons through without them falling off.

Safety Tip:
Always supervise your child during play. Buttons are small objects and pose a significant choking hazard for young children. Ensure all materials are used only as intended.

Tight Weave Screw Frame

Steps:

Use the Markers to draw a sturdy frame or square onto the Cardboard. Use the Scissors to cut this frame out (parent assistance may be needed).
Take the Index Cards and cut them into long, colorful strips for weaving. Draw a simple pattern on them using markers.
Glue the beginning of each strip to the back of the Cardboard frame. Weave the strips tightly across the frame, then secure the ends with Glue on the back.
Using the Hole Puncher, squeeze hard to punch 4 holes straight through the woven layers and the Cardboard frame. This requires strong effort!
Stabilize the frame with your helper hand. Push a Bolt straight through one of the tight, punched holes.
Pick up a Nut with a precise Pincer Grasp. Twist the Nut firmly onto the Bolt until the woven strips are compressed tightly. Repeat until all holes are secured.

Safety Tip:
Constant adult supervision is required when using scissors. Ensure the child handles the nuts and bolts appropriately, keeping them away from the mouth, nose, and ears.
