The Wet Tissue Mosaic

Steps:

  • Help your child tear tissue paper into small bits.
  • Fill the squirt bottle with a little water.
  • Let your child spray the dry erase board.
  • Ask them to press the paper bits onto the wet board.
  • Watch as the paper stays in place!
  • Try to cover the whole board with different colors.

CHOKING HAZARD: This activity uses small pieces of paper. Always supervise your child. Ensure they do not put paper in their mouth.

The Fuzzy Cardboard Letter Wrap

The Fuzzy Cardboard Letter Wrap

Steps:

  • Use a marker to draw a large, chunky letter on a piece of cardboard.
  • Help your child use scissors to cut the letter out.
  • Tape the end of a long piece of yarn to the back of the cardboard letter.
  • Show your child how to wrap the yarn around and around the letter.
  • Encourage them to use their helper hand to turn the cardboard while the other hand wraps.
  • Once the letter is fully covered in fuzzy yarn, tape the end to the back.

Safety Tip:
Always supervise your child when they are using scissors or handling long pieces of yarn.

Spoon Glide Seesaw

Spoon Glide Seesaw

Steps:

  • Tape two long cardboard strips side-by-side to make a wide path.
  • Draw a colorful zigzag line down the middle with markers.
  • Place a ping pong ball at the start of the path.
  • Give your child a spoon.
  • Ask them to hold the cardboard track with both hands.
  • Tilt the board left and right to roll the ball.
  • Use the spoon in one hand to keep the ball on the line.

Safety Tip:
Always supervise your child during play to ensure they use the spoon and ball safely.

The Aluminium Pan Sifter Shake

The Aluminium Pan Sifter Shake

Steps:

  • Place the Aluminium Foil Pan upside down on a table.
  • Use a pencil to poke ten holes through the bottom of the pan.
  • Flip the pan over and set it on top of a large bowl.
  • Pour a cup of dry rice and a handful of beads into the pan.
  • Hold the edges of the pan with both hands.
  • Shake the pan side to side to sift the rice into the bowl.
  • Use your pinching fingers to pick up the remaining beads!

Safety Tip:
Always supervise children during this activity. The pencil has a sharp point, and the rice and beads are small objects that can be a choking hazard.

The Sticky Landing Fan

The Sticky Landing Fan

Steps:

  • Place three long strips of masking tape on the floor, sticky side up.
  • Set a colorful feather on the floor about two feet away from the tape.
  • Give your child a paper plate to hold with both hands.
  • Show them how to wave the plate up and down to create wind.
  • Help them fan the feather toward the sticky tape landing pad.
  • Watch as the feather flies through the air and sticks to the tape!
  • Ask your child to use their fingers to peel the feather off and start again.

Choking Hazard. Always supervise your child to ensure they do not put feathers or masking tape in their mouth.
