The Silver Pan Web Weaver

Steps:

Use markers to draw ten dots around the rim of the pan.
Use a pencil to poke a hole through each dot.
Tie one end of the yarn to the first hole.
Thread the yarn across the pan to another hole.
Continue until the silver web is finished!

Safety Tip:
Poking holes with a pencil requires steady hands. Always supervise your child to prevent any pokes to the skin.

The Aluminium Pan Sifter Shake

Steps:

Place the Aluminium Foil Pan upside down on a table.
Use a pencil to poke ten holes through the bottom of the pan.
Flip the pan over and set it on top of a large bowl.
Pour a cup of dry rice and a handful of beads into the pan.
Hold the edges of the pan with both hands.
Shake the pan side to side to sift the rice into the bowl.
Use your pinching fingers to pick up the remaining beads!

Safety Tip:
Always supervise children during this activity. The pencil has a sharp point, and the rice and beads are small objects that can be a choking hazard.

The Button Balance Scale

Steps:

Lay a pencil flat on a table. Use a small piece of masking tape to stop it from rolling.
Place the middle of the ruler on top of the pencil. It should tilt back and forth like a seesaw.
Use your thumb and pointer finger to pick up a single button from your collection.
Place the button gently on one end of the ruler.
Now, try to place a second button on the other side to balance the weight.
When the ruler stays level without touching the table, your child has mastered the challenge of finding the center of gravity.
Keep adding buttons to see how many the scale can hold before it tips.

Safety Tip:
Adult supervision is required. Buttons are a choking hazard. Keep them away from small children and pets at all times.

Felt Roll & Clip Match

Steps:

Use markers to draw a simple dot on one felt strip and a matching dot on one index card.
Place the felt strip flat. Roll the felt tightly around the pencil to create a dense, resistant cylinder.
Remove the pencil carefully while holding the felt roll firmly with your helper hand to keep the shape.
Pick up the paper clip using a strong pincer grasp (thumb and index finger).
Slide the paper clip onto the felt cylinder to secure the roll. This requires effort and focus.
Set the finished felt scroll onto the Index Card that has the matching marker dot. Repeat for all felt strips.

Safety Tip:
Constant and direct adult supervision is required. Small paper clips and felt scraps pose a potential choking hazard for children who still place objects in their mouths. Ensure all materials are collected immediately after play.

Tight Coil Ribbon Weave

Steps:

Adult Prep: Use masking tape to secure the cardboard firmly onto a stable table. Cut pipe cleaners into 4-inch sections if needed.
Encourage your child to wrap one pipe cleaner tightly around a pencil. Slide the pencil out to create a small, dense coil. Repeat this action to create six colorful coils.
Use small pieces of masking tape to secure one end of each finished coil firmly onto the cardboard base. Space the coils out slightly in a winding path.
Cut a long piece of ribbon (about 18 inches). Tie one end of the ribbon securely onto the first coil target.
Challenge your child to use their fingertips to carefully push the loose end of the ribbon straight through the center of the next tight coil.
Continue this weaving action. The child should push the ribbon through each coil one by one until they reach the end of the coiled line.

Safety Tip:
Adult supervision is required, as sharp scissors are used for preparation. Ensure the ends of the pipe cleaners are curled or tucked safely. Collect all small materials immediately after play.
