Steps:

  • Lay a sheet of cardboard on a flat table.
  • Draw four large blue circles on the cardboard with your markers.
  • Tear off four squares of aluminium foil using both hands together.
  • Crumple each foil square into a small, shallow bowl shape.
  • Place one foil bowl inside each blue circle on the cardboard.
  • Give your child a pair of tongs and a container of pom-poms.
  • Ask them to squeeze the tongs to pick up one pom-pom.
  • Carefully drop the pom-pom into a foil pond.
  • Challenge them to fill every pond without tipping the foil bowls over!

The Shiny Foil Crown Crimp

Steps:

  • Help your child use scissors to cut a long, wide strip of cardboard.
  • Use the markers to draw colorful gems and patterns on the strip.
  • Tape the ends of the cardboard together to make a headband that fits your child.
  • Ask your child to tear several small squares of aluminum foil using both hands.
  • Show them how to fold a foil square over the top rim of the crown.
  • Challenge your child to use their pinching fingers to squeeze the foil until it stays flat.
  • Continue crimping foil all the way around the crown to make it look like silver jewels!

Steps:

  • Glue a sheet of aluminium foil onto a piece of cardboard.
  • Use your hands to smooth the foil until it is very flat.
  • Use a bright marker to draw a curvy path across the foil.
  • Ask your child to pick up a pom-pom using their pinching fingers.
  • Challenge them to slide the pom-pom slowly along the drawn path.
  • Try drawing a zigzag or a circle to make it harder!

The Foil Ring Noodle Slide

Steps:

  • Tear off five squares of aluminium foil about the size of a piece of bread.
  • Show your child how to roll each foil square into a long, thin snake.
  • Bend the foil snake into a circle and twist the ends to make a ring.
  • Use markers to draw different colored stripes on your pool noodle to create targets.
  • Ask your child to hold the pool noodle with one hand.
  • Use the other hand to slide a foil ring onto the end of the noodle.
  • Challenge them to slide the ring all the way to a matching color stripe!
