This activity provides opportunities for sensory engagement (i.e. through vision and touch) in order to promote tolerance of different textures and (messy) sights.

This activity promotes fine motor skills (i.e. cutting with child-sized scissors, drawing with markers, squeezing a glue bottle, and manipulating painting utensils) involved in academics. In addition, it addresses sensory play through interaction with glue, salt, and watercolor textures. 

This activity gives the child an opportunity to explore a variety of tactile media and develop his/her stereognosis sense.

Practice imitating basic pre-writing shapes.
