Welcome to OTPlan
Hi, I’m Avital Shuster. I am a mom to three active kids, a wife, and a pediatric Occupational Therapist based in Orange County, California.
Why I Created OTPlan Years ago: before social media made sharing ideas instant, I noticed a recurring struggle for the families I worked with. Parents wanted to help their children build skills at home, but they didn’t always know how to do it without buying expensive therapy equipment or complicated toys.
I realized that the best tools for development are often the ones already sitting in your kitchen drawer or recycling bin.
I created OTPlan to solve that problem. I built it as a specialized search engine for activity ideas that use simple, everyday items found in almost every household. My goal was to support parents, teachers, and therapists in finding playful, purposeful activities that target specific developmental skills—no fancy equipment required.
My Philosophy I believe that therapy shouldn’t feel like work. It should feel like play. Whether you are navigating autism, ADHD, sensory differences, or just looking for fun ways to support your child’s development, my approach is always child-led and neurodiversity-affirming.
Through OTPlan (and my clinic, Tumble N’ Dots), I love coming up with creative ways to turn a simple cotton ball or a cardboard box into a meaningful developmental opportunity. I hope this site helps you feel equipped, inspired, and ready to play.
